My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.

Welcome to gov.summit.net.

ALL opinions are invited, respected and appreciated here. Our nation was created and has succeeded from our diverse cultures, opinions and backgrounds.

gov.summit.net, an interactive site, was developed for the purpose of sharing current and historic information and to encourage discussion of social, financial, political and governmental matters. This site is devoted to non-partisan discussion, communication and increased understanding of political issues, as based upon and consistent with our founding documents.

The founder and creator, Gary Triplett of Culpeper, Virginia, has long been very concerned about the direction our nation is taking. Government, each day, becomes more controlling and involved in our businesses and personal lives inhibiting our free society. This happens very slowly, so slowly that most people never notice. Greater government simply becomes the "norm"... we become conditioned. The productive, free environment that built this country and made it a model for the rest of the world, is being replaced by a more "top heavy", socialist style government that has forgotten that "We, the People" are it's owner and boss.

The final straw and motivator for Gary to create this site was when his local government, the Town of Culpeper, Virginia, contorted and construed Virginia law to demolish his family's nearly 100 year old family business, Triplett Milling Company. Property rights and individual Constitutional protections were completely ignored in favor of what has become a local government, a seemingly separate profit making entity, to be more concerned with it's own motivations and gains rather than the peoples' will. This arguably unlawful act was overshadowed by it's town officials, on site, allowing illegal entry and looting of the building's contents. Read more about this...(soon to be available here)
